Mintrocket announced on the 9th that its hybrid ocean adventure game 'Dave the Diver' (hereinafter 'Dave') has surpassed 10 million copies sold globally. According to the company, this is the first such milestone achieved by a Korean-developed single-player packaged game.
'Dave' is a game that combines adventure elements of exploring the Blue Hole and collecting marine life with managing a sushi restaurant. After launching in Steam Early Access in October 2022, it expanded its platforms to PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox.
Mintrocket explained that new content, platform expansion, and collaborations with other IPs led to sustained long-term sales growth. The studio introduced collaboration content with titles such as 'Godzilla', 'Like a Dragon', and 'DREDGE', while 'In the Jungle', a story expansion DLC released in June, recorded cumulative sales of 1 million copies in about two months.
The mobile version is set to release globally on the Apple App Store and Google Play on the 17th. It refines the gameplay of the PC and console versions for the mobile environment, incorporating touch and tilt controls.
To celebrate reaching 10 million sales, Mintrocket presented pure gold commemorative cards to its employees and held an internal event. In late October, the studio plans to hold a 3-day, 2-night Okinawa workshop for all team members.
