Com2uS has issued an official statement announcing that it will formally request an investigation from law enforcement authorities regarding a "post impersonating an employee."
On September 4, a post appeared on an online community in which a user claiming to be an internal Com2uS employee uploaded photos showing the cafeteria menu alongside what appeared to be the interior of the company premises. The post sparked controversy as it contained content mocking game players. Although the original post was quickly deleted, captured screenshots spread across online communities. The controversy escalated as follow-up posts emerged on the same forum urging users to report the incident to media outlets and broadcasters.
In an official notice addressing user inquiries about the post, Com2uS explained that it reviewed internal CCTV footage from the timeframe mentioned in the post. According to the company, the individual who took the photos was seen wearing a mask and a backpack, taking photos from outside the cafeteria, and then leaving the site. Com2uS stated that while non-employees can access the area up to the cafeteria entrance, based on internal investigations, circumstantial evidence, and the fact that employee status is verified during meal serving, the individual was confirmed not to be an employee of the company.
Com2uS cited three main reasons for treating this matter as a serious issue: an unauthorized outsider entering an employee-only space to photograph the interior; posting those photos externally to mislead the public into believing they were an employee; and disparaging game players while spreading groundless slander and false information about the company. The company added that it determined these actions go beyond simple expressions of opinion or criticism, damaging the reputation and social credibility of the company and its employees, and potentially negatively impacting normal business operations and game service management.
Accordingly, Com2uS stated that based on the verified facts and related materials gathered so far, it plans to formally request an investigation from law enforcement agencies into whether the author of the post and related individuals violated relevant laws, including unlawful trespass, defamation, and obstruction of business. It added that once the perpetrator is identified through the investigation and specific facts are established, the company will take civil and criminal legal action, including filing criminal charges and seeking compensation for damages.
Com2uS asked players for their understanding regarding the delay in providing an immediate announcement while verifying the exact facts, stating that it will maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward actions that cause harm and confusion to users. 'Zeus: God of Pride' is an MMORPG developed by AButton and published by Com2uS, which was officially released on August 26.
