A new trailer has been released for 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone', the first season of HBO's TV series set to premiere this Christmas.

Running at approximately 2 minutes and 37 seconds, this trailer offers a much wider look at Hogwarts and Harry Potter compared to the first teaser released in March. In addition to Harry, Ron, and Hermione, the video reveals several characters including Neville, Dumbledore, McGonagall, and Snape. It also depicts various moments such as Harry arriving at Hogwarts and being sorted into his house, taking magic classes, and living in the dormitories.

In addition, it features Quidditch, the journey to uncover Hogwarts' hidden secrets, and many iconic scenes synonymous with Harry Potter.

During the Back to Hogwarts showcase held the previous day, executive producer David Heyman explained that HBO's Harry Potter series retains the core of the original novels while making certain adjustments to fit the television format. He shared that Mark Mylod and Francesca Gardiner are "staying faithful to the spirit and world of the original work while creating something uniquely their own."

In particular, he emphasized that taking advantage of a longer running time than the films allows for a deeper exploration of the characters and the world. While the movies had to compress the narrative due to time constraints, the series can convey the characters' emotions with greater depth and clarity.

For instance, viewers can fully experience the process of Harry and his friends arriving at Hogwarts for the first time and discovering the school, as well as the overwhelming awe of encountering that grand world. David Heyman expressed that this aspect is truly rewarding and enjoyable to work on.

HBO's Harry Potter TV series is a reboot launching in celebration of the original film series' 25th anniversary. It will adapt the 7 books of the Harry Potter series into 7 seasons over the next 10 years. Filming for Season 2 is scheduled to begin this fall.

The first season, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, will air during the Christmas season on December 25, 2026. In South Korea, it will be released exclusively on Coupang Play.
