On August 26, the full lineup for the Round of 16 was finalized following the conclusion of the 2026 ASL Season 22 Round of 24 Group F matches.

First, in yesterday's Round of 24 Group F matches, a battle took place between lone Protoss player Byun Hyeon-jae and three Zerg players: Kim Yoon-hwan, Kim Myung-woon, and Kim Jung-woo. Kim Myung-woon finished first in the group while Kim Jung-woo took second, both successfully advancing to the Round of 16. Although Byun Hyeon-jae, a proven Protoss powerhouse, was heavily favored to advance, he was eliminated after dropping matches to Kim Myung-woon and Kim Jung-woo.

In contrast to last season, which was dominated by Terran, half of the qualified field this time around consists of Zerg. Led by Park Sang-hyun, who secured a Round of 16 spot as the Season 21 champion seed, Lee Young-han, Lee Jaedong, Kim Kyung-mo, Cho Il-jang, Kim Min-chul, Kim Myung-woon, and Kim Jung-woo have all advanced to the Round of 16. Following them, Terran will field five players: seeded players Shin Sang-moon and Lee Jae-ho, along with Yoo Young-jin, Kim Jae-hyun, and Jung Young-jae from the Round of 24. Meanwhile, Protoss features an elite few, with only three players surviving: Jang Yoon-chul, Do Jae-wook, and Kim Yoon-jong—a scarcity expected to draw even greater attention to Protoss matches.

Meanwhile, the Round of 16 group selection ceremony will take place on August 31 at 7:00 PM, with the Round of 16 matches scheduled to begin on September 7.
