The first trailer featuring gameplay footage of Game of Thrones: War for Westeros has been revealed.

Unveiled during Gamescom Opening Night Live, the video features numerous characters from the HBO series, including Jon Snow, Jaime Lannister, Daenerys, and the Night King.

Game of Thrones: War for Westeros is a classic real-time strategy game set in the world of Westeros. Players can conquer the Seven Kingdoms and claim the Iron Throne through solo and multiplayer modes. You can command your House, rally iconic heroes, and devise your own strategy.

In the game, players can lead House Stark, House Lannister, House Targaryen, or the Army of the Dead. By commanding their own armies in real-time battles, players can experience iconic Game of Thrones battles firsthand.

Players assume the role of a commander and must make critical decisions such as training troops, securing resources, constructing buildings, and capturing enemy territory. Each faction employs asymmetric strategies through unique armies, buildings, game mechanics, and playstyles that reflect their identity from the Game of Thrones series. Leveraging each faction's unique strengths is central to the game.

Game of Thrones: War for Westeros is scheduled to release in early 2027. Developer PlaySide previously delayed the planned release date from 2026. At the time, PlaySide explained, "Time is needed to achieve a high level of polish worthy of a game that satisfies both RTS players and Game of Thrones fans," adding, "We will not take players' patience and support for granted."
