'Luminote Mio' is a narrative simulator game currently in development by Indonesia's LOGIC - Thizen Studio.
Set in a quiet post-apocalyptic world, the game invites players to experience a journey where characters seek to understand both the world around them and themselves. Players follow the protagonist, Mio, as she decorates aquariums to bring comfort to new friends she meets along her journey, explores the remaining world, and engages in sincere conversations.
The actual gameplay is close to a point-and-click adventure. You meet others who visit your boat, talk to them, and create the aquariums they need. When filling an aquarium, you cannot simply cram in fish, plants, and rocks; you must carefully balance the tank's atmosphere and harmony before submitting it.
To decorate these habitats, you must consistently head out to explore and observe the world. In this process, you meet new characters and talk to existing ones to hear various stories. In the roughly 25-minute demo, I was able to fully experience the warm and cozy atmosphere.
While the Steam page does not yet confirm support for a Korean version, this BIC demo version does support Korean. Unfortunately, the translation is not perfect, which may slightly hinder immersion, but it is sufficient to convey the atmosphere the game intends to project.
With its watercolor-style art and warm color palette, the game seems capable of restoring a sense of daily comfort through its calm, lighthearted story and minigames. Although the post-apocalyptic setting might sound heavy, the game transforms that atmosphere into something tranquil, perfectly capturing the essence of a 'healing' game.
