'Princess Maker: Children of the Prophecy,' currently in development by Gear Second, has released its 0.9.9 update and confirmed its official launch date.
On the 12nd, Gear Second announced the improvements, additions, and bug fixes included in the 0.9.9 update via an official Steam post. This update adds an OST player and a replay menu to the collection screen, allowing players to revisit in-game BGM and past events. Furthermore, a new ending gallery has been introduced, where players can view all the endings they have achieved so far.
The pixel art has also been improved so that equipped dresses and gear are now visible during art festivals and martial arts tournaments, and new illustrations have been added to specific events. A feature allowing players to change the order of characters when multiple individuals are present in a single schedule has been implemented, and a V-Sync option has been added to the settings menu. Additionally, support for the macOS platform has been introduced alongside existing platforms.
Other updates include improvements to translation quality, UI refinements, and additional dialogue with bond characters. Bug fixes addressed issues such as certain events failing to trigger, the inability to proceed with vacations when Fate Cards are equipped, and incorrect dialogue or dishes appearing during cooking contests. With the announcement of the official launch date, this is effectively the final update for the Early Access version.
Previously, the completion of 'Princess Maker: Children of the Prophecy' was uncertain due to issues at the original developer, but the project was revived after a contract was signed with Gear Second on December 31 of last year. Since then, the team has carried out large-scale content updates, including extending the raising period to eight years and adding eight romanceable characters and 53 types of endings.
'Princess Maker: Children of the Prophecy' is scheduled for official release on September 30. The development team stated that they are preparing voice acting, additional endings, and various events and illustrations for the full launch. Further details can be found on the official Steam page.
