The GXG 2026 Game Music Contest, a creative music festival based on game universes, has announced its final six teams and will present a spectacular main stage performance in Pangyo on September 11.
The GXG 2026 Game Music Contest: The 3rd GXG SOUND TRACK (hereinafter referred to as GXG SOUND TRACK) is a stage for original songs inspired by in-game experiences and characters. The judging panel thoroughly evaluated applicants' musicality, creativity, and stage scalability to confirm a total of six teams as finalists.
Professor Nam-wook Choi of the Department of Applied Music at Dong-Seoul University, who served as head of the judging panel, said, "While evaluating the video and audio submissions, there were so many outstanding works that it was difficult to rank them." He added, "The participants' high musical capabilities and deep understanding of games were impressive, and selecting the final six teams was by no means easy. We expect the main stage will be even more exciting with live performances and the atmosphere of the venue."
The six finalist teams are NOX with "Bite the lie" (inspired by Lies of P: Overture), Solaris with "Arise!" (based on League of Legends), Unreal Odyssey with "Gloria" (themed around Dungeon & Fighter Universe), Catalog with "Maehwa" (inspired by MapleStory), Hahyeon with "LoveRace" (based on Blue Archive), and string band Momad with "Nova X" (inspired by PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS). These six teams plan to deliver a new musical experience to the audience with songs reflecting their distinct personalities.
Their fierce live competition will take place on Friday, September 11, on the main stage at Pangyo Station Square in Seongnam, with the final winner determined by combining expert evaluation and citizen participation votes. To this end, online early voting will run for about two weeks from Friday, August 28, to Thursday, September 10. Anyone can vote after listening to audio teasers around 30 seconds long on the official website and social media, and on-site votes cast on September 11 will also be factored into the final result.
Meanwhile, the GXG 2026 event will be held for two days from Friday, September 11, to Saturday, September 12, in the area surrounding Pangyo Station Square, welcoming citizens with a wide variety of content beyond the music competition.
