Kakao Games (co-CEOs Kim Tae-hwan, Lee Si-woo) announced on the 3rd that it has unveiled the official title for the new PC MMORPG currently under development by XLGAMES (CEO Choi Kwan-ho), 'ArcheAge S: Strait of Freedom' (hereinafter 'ArcheAge S'), and has signed a global publishing agreement.

'ArcheAge S' is a PC MMORPG being prepared for a global release, optimized specifically for the PC platform. The project is led by PD Kim Kyung-tae, who served as the original planning team lead and PD for the original 'ArcheAge'. The game is characterized by its reinterpretation of the original IP's core values and identity to align with modern gaming trends.

Through this agreement, Kakao Games has secured the domestic and global service rights for 'ArcheAge S', further strengthening its new game lineup. Leveraging its accumulated expertise in MMORPG publishing and live operations, the company plans to deploy multifaceted marketing strategies and provide stable services, while working closely with the developer to deliver a high-quality gaming experience to users worldwide.

Since its launch in 2013, the original 'ArcheAge' has been a leading domestic IP, consistently loved by global users for its deep world-building based on the original novel, high degree of freedom, and large-scale combat. Following the 2023 release of 'ArcheAge War' and the 2024 reveal of 'ArcheAge Chronicles', the addition of 'ArcheAge S' continues the expansion of the franchise across various platforms and genres.
