Pearl Abyss announced that its title 'Crimson Desert' won the 'Best International Game Award' at the China Game Innovation Awards (CGIA) 2026, held during ChinaJoy, the country's largest gaming expo.

Now in its sixth year, the CGIA is hosted by the China Audio-video and Digital Publishing Association and organized by the Chinese gaming platform TapTap. Each year, the awards recognize outstanding games and developers based on a comprehensive evaluation of creativity, technical prowess, and artistry.
The 'Best International Game Award' is presented to overseas games that have achieved innovative breakthroughs in gameplay mechanics, technical application, and artistic design, while inspiring the development of the global gaming industry. Following its win for Technical Innovation at the Develop:Star Awards in the UK, 'Crimson Desert' has once again been recognized for its gameplay and technical prowess by securing this award at the CGIA.
To prepare for its entry into the Chinese market, Pearl Abyss actively expanded its engagement with local users by operating dedicated booths for Crimson Desert at Bilibili World and ChinaJoy last year. The game also features Chinese voiceovers and subtitles to help local players immerse themselves more deeply in its story and world-building.
GamerSky, the only Chinese media outlet featured on Metacritic, awarded Crimson Desert a 86, praising its vast scale and diverse open world content by stating, "The richness of the content in Crimson Desert is so incredible that it is hard to believe it is a real game."
On the 31st, Pearl Abyss participated in 'ChinaJoy 2026' in partnership with TCL, China's largest TV and display manufacturer. The company showcased the thrilling combat and open world content of Crimson Desert at the TCL booth and strengthened its local network by hosting an after-party for local media and partners.
