'EVO France 2026,' the second iteration of the event following its debut, will be held over three days from October 9 to 11 at the Palais des Expositions in Nice, France. After a successful inaugural year, EVO France is expanding its scale this year to feature more participants and matches. The event will once again welcome world-class fighting game players to Nice, serving as a gathering for fans worldwide to celebrate fighting game culture.
This year's event is designed as a comprehensive three-day gaming festival rather than just a tournament. It will feature official tournaments across eight titles, and both participants and spectators can interact with the community in the BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer/Console) area, explore publisher exhibition booths, and purchase various merchandise in the vendor zone. Additionally, a free-to-play arcade area will be available to all attendees.
Early bird registration closed today (the 29th), and the rankings for applicants by game title were released. Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8 maintained their firm hold on the first and second spots, respectively, while 'Marvel Fighting Souls,' set for release on August 6, recorded the third-highest number of participants. They were followed by 2XKO and Guilty Gear Strive in fourth and fifth place, with the new title 'Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game' ranking sixth. Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising and Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves rounded out the list in seventh and eighth place.
Although early bird registration has ended, general registration for the official tournaments remains open. All official tournament matches will begin on Friday, October 9. Participant badge pickup will take place on-site on Thursday, October 8, the day before the event opens, from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The total prize pool is €225,000, with prize money distributed based on rankings—ranging from a maximum of €20k for first place to a minimum of €203 for eighth place, depending on the number of registered participants per title.
