The launch of Hound 13's open world action RPG, 'Dragon Sword: Awakening,' has been delayed.

Hound 13 had originally announced a release time of 7:00 AM KST on July 23. However, at 6:00 AM today, the company announced that it would be unable to release the game as scheduled because the app review process on Steam had not yet been completed. In the announcement, Producer Jang Yoon-jin stated, "I sincerely apologize to everyone who has been waiting for a long time that we are unable to present the game on the scheduled date," and added that they would provide an update as soon as the new release schedule is confirmed.

In a call with INVEN, Hound 13 explained, "We addressed the requirements requested by Steam in consideration of the launch schedule and submitted the app for final review on the 15th, but we were unable to meet the planned release time." They added, "We are currently waiting for the final review results. We will do our best to release the game as soon as the review is complete."

Meanwhile, Dragon Sword: Awakening was previously released as a live-service version through Webzen in January. Hound 13 terminated the publishing contract after Webzen failed to pay the Minimum Guarantee (MG), and the game is now being re-released as a package version. In relation to this, Webzen filed an injunction with the court to block the self-published release, but the Seoul Central District Court dismissed the request on the 22nd, citing that Webzen had failed to fulfill its contractual obligations within the specified period and had expressed an intent to refuse payment. Hound 13 added that with the injunction-related issues resolved, they would focus on the normal release of the game.

The release time for Dragon Sword: Awakening will be re-announced via the Steam page at a later date.
