A stage is being set for a journey back in time to the early days of domestic League of Legends esports, an era often remembered as the age of romance.
Riot Games, the organizer of the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK), announced on the 14th that it will host the LCK Legends Match at LoL PARK in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on August 4.
Riot Games previously held an event match featuring League of Legends Classic (LoL Classic) at the 2026 Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) finals, which took place at the Daejeon Convention Center (DCC) in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon. The match electrified the crowd with appearances by former professional players from Korea and abroad, including 'Ambition' Kang Chan-yong, 'PawN' Heo Won-seok, and 'Captain Jack' Kang Hyung-woo.
Immediately following the LoL Classic event match, Riot Games unveiled information regarding regional special matches, and the LCK released a teaser video for the LCK Legends Match. The video outlines plans to summon the raw, unfiltered gameplay that frequently defined the so-called age of romance, when players competed purely on instinct.
