To mark its 20th anniversary, ASUS ROG has unveiled an entire commemorative lineup dubbed 'Edition 20.'
This isn't just a single product; it’s a full-course feast featuring nearly every component and gaming peripheral needed to build a PC. The lineup includes motherboards, graphics cards, power supplies, cases, handhelds, keyboards, mice, monitors, mini PCs, routers, and even travel luggage. They’ve even thrown in action figures and a board game for good measure.
ROG debuted in 2006 with an AMD motherboard, so the starting point for this announcement is a commitment to kick off the next 20 years with an AMD board as well.
A unified color scheme runs through the entire lineup: a heavy black base accented with red, transparent materials, and gold trim. ROG explains that the black represents the brand's gravitas, the red evokes the gaming sentiment of the early 2000s Internet cafe era, the transparency symbolizes innovation, and the gold honors the legacy of the past 20 years.
The star of the show is the motherboard. The 'ROG Crosshair X870E Edition 20' stands out with a clean design that covers the board surface like a thick suit of armor. These panels are magnetically attached for easy removal during assembly, and the large piece covering the bottom of the board is designed to be kept as a memento even after you upgrade your components later. Generous amounts of copper heatsinks are used for cooling.
Paired with it is the 'Ryujin 360' liquid cooler, which comes bundled in the same box. Thanks to their integrated design, the cooler doesn't just chill the CPU; it also cools the motherboard's power delivery components. ROG’s internal testing against their previous top-tier combinations showed significantly lower temperatures with this setup. Assembly is also a breeze: simply mounting the cooler connects power and signals without cables, and a 6.67-inch screen displays system status.
The 'ROG Astral RTX 5090 Edition 20' graphics card boasts a curved screen wrapping around its front edge, where users can display custom videos or information. The back is finished with glass to reveal the internals, and the cooler has been beefed up to match the slightly larger chassis required to house the screen. When connected to a dedicated adapter and a compatible motherboard, it unlocks a 'full power' mode that draws up to 800W.
The 'ROG Thor 3kW' power supply is the first in the series to break the 3kW barrier. It’s capable of running four RTX 5090s simultaneously, making it a product built for extreme setups that make you wonder, 'Who could possibly use all this power?' The small screen showing power consumption can be relocated outside the case using an included extension, allowing users with hidden-PSU cases to monitor it in real time.
The 'ROG GR20' case, designed to house these components, was built from the ground up. Its open-frame structure ensures excellent airflow, and a dedicated fan blowing air over the board helps manage the temperature of M.2 SSDs, which are often overlooked. With just a screwdriver, you can switch between three orientations: vertical, tilted, or fully horizontal.
There’s also something for those on the go. The 'ROG Xbox Ally X20' handheld features a 7.4-inch screen and a transparent black-and-gold design, and it comes bundled with 'ROG XREAL R1' AR glasses. ROG explains that since these glasses project a 171-inch large screen 4 meters away, using them with the handheld allows for big-screen gaming anywhere.
ROG also put significant effort into peripherals. The 'ROG Azoth Extreme' keyboard features transparent keycaps and a 24K gold-plated nameplate, while the 'ROG Harpe II Extreme' mouse combines a transparent shell revealing a gold frame with a pro-grade sensor. They also released a 'Keycap Mystery Box' for those looking to customize their existing keyboards with an ROG flair, along with the 'ROG Destrier' gaming chair.
For monitors, two 27-inch 1440p 'ROG Swift OLED PG27' models have been revealed, featuring the latest OLED technology. They use new panels that are brighter, richer in color, and longer-lasting. Most importantly, users can toggle between 'image quality priority' and 'speed priority' modes with a single button, making them perfect for gamers who want the best of both worlds.
The lineup also includes the 'ROG NUC 16' mini PC, the massive pre-built 'ROG G1k' desktop, the WiFi 7 'ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Pro' router, and even travel carriers and backpacks. ROG didn't stop there, extending its reach beyond gaming hardware: they created a posable figure of their new official mascot, 'OMNI,' and released their first board game, 'ROG SAGA: In Search of Lapuntu.' It’s rare to see a hardware company produce its own board game, a feat only possible under the banner of a 20th-anniversary celebration.
