Combat gameplay footage has been released for 'Yangyang: Feilian' and 'Shorekeeper,' two new characters arriving in KURO GAMES' open world RPG 'Wuthering Waves' after version 3.4.

'Yangyang: Verdant' is a new variant of Yangyang, the first Resonator the Rover meets in Jinzhou, the first region of Huanglong in the Ming Dynasty. The original Yangyang is a 4-star Aero-attribute sword-wielding Resonator who serves as a support and sub-damage dealer, thanks to her crowd-control skills and an Outro Skill that restores Resonance Energy. While 'Yangyang: Verdant' also uses a sword and features aerial combat, she shifts away from Aero-based crowd control to deal wide-area damage with flashy sword energy. Upon activating her Resonance Liberation, she unleashes a burst of energy shaped like a bird that accompanies her in battle, sending it forward to detonate on impact.

'Shorekeeper,' who follows, is a Resonator from Mingjing, the capital of Huanglong. Little was known about her beyond her signature fan. However, the in-game footage highlights special effects reminiscent of traditional East Asian ink wash paintings in gold and blue during her Resonance Skill and Resonance Liberation. Given that these effects emphasize visual flair over direct physical strikes, she is expected to serve as a supporter, much like The Shorekeeper, Youhu, or Monie.

Alongside this, KURO GAMES released a teaser today (the 15th) on its official YouTube channel, showcasing six upcoming characters and the next region, 'Mt. Firmament.' The teaser revealed illustrations for six characters—'Yangyang: Verdant,' 'Xiangli Yao,' 'Shorekeeper,' 'Jiyan,' 'Yinlin,' and 'Camellya'—while hinting at the geographical features of Mt. Firmament through the title 'Layered Mountain Valleys' and the closing phrase 'Mountain Gate.' Given the emphasis on various mechanical devices and mechanical birds, the region is expected to offer a different aesthetic from the futuristic Lahai-Roi, which featured a collaboration with Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and Jinzhou, which emphasized the feel of a frontline fortress despite being in the same Huanglong territory.
Meanwhile, KURO GAMES announced that the current version 3.4, which features the Cyberpunk: Edgerunner collaboration, will be shortened by 10 days to a 32-day duration. Version 3.5 is scheduled for release on July 10, with further details to be shared via the official lounge and YouTube channel.
