Blizzard Entertainment announced a new collaboration between its popular team-based shooter, Overwatch, and the hit Japanese J-pop duo YOASOBI on the 28th.

At a special event held in Tokyo, Japan, on the 28th, YOASOBI and the Overwatch development team officially unveiled the collaboration, capturing the attention of fans worldwide. The large-scale in-game event, which kicks off on July 1, will allow players to experience YOASOBI’s signature emotional storytelling and music directly within the game. Expectations are high, with a variety of cosmetic items and rewards on the way, including special skins for popular heroes like Kiriko, Genji, and Hanzo.

The collaboration launches alongside a new short story that follows Genji as he travels to Tokyo to reflect on his childhood with Hanzo and Kiriko. To commemorate the event, a special Overwatch edition of the final album in YOASOBI’s signature 'THE BOOK' series will be released on June 26 (PST). The new album will feature the track 'Orion,' a song inspired by the Genji short story, serving as a special gift for both gaming and music fans alike.
