NHN (CEO Jung Woo-jin) announced on the 28th the official launch of 'Rush Hold'em,' a new mode for its mobile online card and board game, Mobile Hangame Poker, designed to maximize the pace of play.
Rush Hold'em adds fast-paced gameplay to the standard rules of Texas Hold'em. Each table accommodates up to six players, and users can choose to 'fold' and immediately join a new game, even if it is not their turn.
The key feature of Rush Hold'em is the ability to jump into the next hand without waiting for other players to finish their betting. The mode also includes special challenge events designed to appeal to competitive players. When 'event tables'—such as Flop Battle, Turn Battle, or River Battle—are triggered, players start the game from that specific betting stage, with the chance to win up to 200 billion chips in bonus game money upon victory.
NHN has been hosting a successful launch event for Rush Hold'em since the 21st. Players who complete five games of Rush Hold'em receive 10 million chips instantly and are automatically entered into a prize draw, where three winners will be selected to receive one don (3.75g) of pure gold.
Additionally, game money will be awarded to the user who participates in the most event tables and is crowned 'Battle King,' while the top player in each arena based on seed money will receive 50 billion chips. For those who secure the most bonus chips in Turn or River Battles within each arena, a special promotion offers to double the amount of bonus chips earned.
Players can also earn up to 10 'Lucky Tickets' per day by playing five games of Rush Hold'em, which can be exchanged for 10 gems or 100 million chips. These tickets can also be used to enter a giveaway for prizes including an iPhone 17 Pro Max, LG StanbyME 2, iPad Air 11, ₩300k Shinsegae Department Store gift certificates, and coffee vouchers.
Choi Young-doo, Group Leader of NHN's Mobile Webboard Business, stated that Rush Hold'em is content that allows players to fully experience the thrill of intense competition through its fast-paced gameplay and event tables. He added that they have prepared various events with rich prizes to accompany the high-tension gameplay and encouraged users to show their interest.
Meanwhile, a new event called 'Rake Race' is scheduled to be held in the Rush Hold'em arenas this June. In this event, players will earn points based on the 'rake' (dealer fee) generated after games to determine their rankings. Points can be earned even in defeat, and top-ranked players will be provided with substantial game money as a reward.
