On the 27th, Com2uS unveiled the world-building and key graphics technologies for 'Zeus: God of Hubris,' a new MMORPG currently under development by AButton.
'Zeus: God of Hubris' is set in a world fractured by the hubris of Zeus. The game follows the player's journey as they prove their worth as a 'vessel of the gods,' a narrative reflected in the regional atmosphere, architectural styles, lighting, and terrain. Key locations revealed include the Temple of Fate in Thebes, the southern part of the Nameless Forest, the Temenos Garden in Thessaly, and the Citadel of Thessaly.
The visual presentation is built on Unreal Engine 5. By utilizing Lumen, a global illumination technology, the game renders real-time lighting effects that simulate how light interacts with objects and spaces. This includes the torchlight illuminating the interior of the Temple of Fate, sunlight in the Temenos Garden, and natural light within the Citadel of Thessaly.
Furthermore, physically based rendering (PBR) is applied to capture the distinct textures of stone, metal ornaments, vegetation, soil, and scorched rock. The game is designed to make these ancient Greek-style structures and natural landscapes feel like immersive, tangible spaces for players.
To ensure a stable gameplay environment, the developers have also integrated NVIDIA’s AI-powered DLSS upscaling technology. To maintain frame stability across vast fields and large-scale battlefields, the team is prioritizing PC-level visual quality before optimizing for mobile environments. This process involves balancing performance loads during the engineering phase while refining artistic details.
Com2uS plans to sequentially release further information regarding the game's world, systems, and service details, with a target launch in the third quarter of 2026.
