
'BitSummit PUNCH,' Japan's largest indie game festival, has set a new all-time attendance record with 68208 cumulative visitors.
The BitSummit Executive Committee released detailed results on the 25th, including cumulative attendance and total exhibition scale. According to the data, the event drew 13975 visitors during Business Day, 28600 on the first public day, and 25633 on the second public day, totaling 68208. This represents a 117% increase compared to the 58065 visitors recorded the previous year, marking the largest turnout in the event's history.
The exhibition scale was also substantial. Out of approximately 550 submissions, 125 general entries and 78 corporate entries were selected through a rigorous screening process. Including board games, specialized hardware devices, and game jam entries, the total number of exhibition booths reached 496. Furthermore, 80 sponsors supported the event across various areas, including parties, game pitches, game jams, and streaming segments.
The BitSummit Executive Committee stated, "Next year's BitSummit is also scheduled to be held over three days, including one Business Day and two public days," adding, "The entire committee will strive to make the event even more enjoyable for everyone."
Next year's BitSummit is scheduled to take place over three days from Friday, May 21, to Sunday, May 23, 2027. Meanwhile, the live streaming archive capturing the excitement of 'BitSummit PUNCH' is available for viewing on the official BitSummit YouTube channel.
