On the 7th, KT Rolster secured a 2-0 victory against Dplus KIA in the second round of the 2026 LoL Champions Korea (LCK) regular season, held at LoL Park in Jonggak. Although both sets started unfavorably as opposing mid-laner 'ShowMaker' Heo Su grew significantly in the early game, KT Rolster skillfully bought time to scale, eventually turning the tide to secure the win.
After the match, Head Coach Go Dong-bin visited the press room and shared his thoughts: "Our recent performance hasn't been great. It's hard to say we played well today, but since we were on a losing streak, I believe this win will have a very positive impact on the team. Regardless of the game content, I felt that winning was the most important thing today, so I'm happy we pulled it off."
Coach Go noted that the comeback victory, achieved from a disadvantageous position, would be particularly beneficial for a team that had been struggling with a losing streak. "This is a meta where laning is extremely sensitive," he said. "There will be times when we win or lose the laning phase, but the ability to stay composed and turn the game around shows that the team is becoming stronger."
Joining him was 'Aiming' Kim Ha-ram, who was named Player of the Match (POM) for his exceptional playmaking on Ashe and late-game carry potential on Yuna. His performance helped wash away the slump he had shown during the losing streak. "I think this is the meta where the bot lane has the most influence out of any I've experienced," he said, opening up about the pressure of the laning phase. "With the addition of quests, if the laning phase goes wrong, it's impossible to recover."
He added, "In a narrow sense, it's a 2v2 in the bot lane, but in a broader sense, it's a 3v3 including the junglers. We've shown many instances of struggling or collapsing in 2v2 situations, which likely made things difficult for our jungler as well. We are currently working through those issues by having a lot of discussions."
After the win, 'Aiming' performed a ceremony where he tore up a piece of paper with the nickname of Dplus KIA Head Coach Kim Dae-ho written on it. When asked about this, he explained, "I'm close with Coach Kim Dae-ho. We had a tough win against them last time, and he was very disappointed then. He jokingly provoked me by saying they would definitely beat us next time, so I wanted to provoke him back."
KT Rolster's next opponent is BNK FearX. Head Coach Go concluded the interview by stating his resolve: "We lost in the recent EWC qualifiers, so we need to prepare well. Now that we've broken our losing streak, we will continue to prepare thoroughly to show a better performance. I ask for the fans' continued support."
