'Pojangmacha: Korean Street Food Management Simulator,' a management simulation game that captures the romance of Korean street food, officially launches worldwide on Steam today (April 9) at 6:00 PM.
This game is the second title from AnomalyGuys, a Korean indie development team that debuted last year with the platformer 'Gugu Pizza.' It was also selected for the 2026 INDIE Live Expo. By pivoting to the management simulation genre—a complete departure from their previous work—the team has sought to differentiate itself through the unique subject matter of Korea's distinct street stall culture.
'Pojangmacha' goes beyond simple management simulation by centering its gameplay on a narrative. The protagonist, having returned home after living abroad, opens a street stall with their uncle, but the goal is more than just business expansion. The desperate need to raise money to reclaim a house lost to auction serves as the driving force behind running the stall.
The game features a division of labor: the player handles front-of-house operations and inventory management, while the uncle character manages the kitchen. Rather than the fatigue of handling everything alone, the cooperation between the two characters naturally conveys the warmth of the street stall space.
The menu itself reflects the game's identity. It features iconic street food that every Korean remembers, such as tteokbokki, sundae, fish cakes, and bungeoppang, while serving as a gateway for international players to experience K-food through gaming. The launch version supports 10 languages, including Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese, French, German, Spanish, Russian, and Italian, as it aims to make a mark on the global market.
