Bethesda announced today (the 8th) that its open-world action RPG 'Starfield' has been released for PS5, and that the Terran Armada DLC and the free 'Lane' update are now available across all platforms.

The PS5 version of Starfield leverages console hardware to support various features, including the light bar, adaptive triggers, and the touchpad. On PS5 Pro, players can choose between Pro Performance Mode, which prioritizes a higher target FPS, or Pro Visual Mode, which enhances graphical quality.

The Terran Armada DLC introduces a new questline set across the Settled Systems. It includes new characters, locations, enemies, quests, systems, and rewards. In this story DLC, players will fight against an invasion led by the Terran Armada's robotic forces and determine the future of humanity in space.

The free 'Lane' update adds a variety of features and systems that expand the core Starfield experience for both new and returning players. The update introduces a Cruise Mode, allowing players to travel between planets within a star system, encounter various events and activities during transit, and spend leisure time on their ship with their crew.

The update also adds the following features.

- New Locations: A large number of new encounter events, POIs, and dungeons have been added, significantly expanding the variety of exploration elements.

- X-Tech: A new resource used to upgrade weapons, ship modules, and more.

- Enemy Modifiers: A new tier of enemies has been added, featuring ability modifiers such as additional shields, increased attack frequency, and elemental damage.

- New ground vehicle: Moon Jumper:

- Outpost Improvements: Players can now share storage between outposts, and the Milliewhale pet has been added.

- New Crew: Muria and a minibot can now be recruited as crew members.

- Starborn Improvements: A feature has been introduced that allows players to carry a limited number of items into NG+ through the Unity.
