On Oct. 27, in the Swiss Stage of the 2023 LoL World Championship, Dplus KIA defeated GAM Esports and stepped up to the 2-win lineup. Although they were in a critical situation with two losses, Dplus KIA won two straight matches and managed to keep their hopes up to reach the knockout stage.

After the match, Heo “ShowMaker” Su joined Yoon Soo-bin for an interview. When asked how it seems that his performance is getting better as the matches get more important, ShowMaker laughed and said, “I actually don’t know. I think I feel more comfortable when I play in international tournaments.”

In game 2 of today’s match, ShowMaker showed a unique build on Ahri as he selected Fleet Footwork and bought Cull. “The opponent champion was Akali. Akali’s basic defense is low. I thought I could benefit from Cut Down as well,” he explained. “I actually didn’t ever practice it, I thought from my experience that it would work out.”

Jang “Nuguri” Ha-gwon, who won Worlds with ShowMaker, had visited KBS Arena. When asked if his cheering helped out, he answered, “It might be that our game was easier because Nuguri came. Thank you.”

This year is ShowMaker’s fifth consecutive Worlds, but it has been three years since he hoisted the Summoner’s Cup. He expressed his determination for the remaining Worlds. “We had a shaky start at this Worlds, but we need to dream big. Although we may not be as trustworthy, our goal is to win Worlds. Please cheer us on.”
