[LCK Today] DRX fails to break 5-game losing streak, DK continues to swap roles

In the 2021 League of Legends Champions Korea Summer Split on June 25, kt Rolster and DWG KIA defeated DRX and Hanwha Life Esports, respectively. With another loss today, DRX failed to get their first win of the season and fell to a 5-game losing streak.

In game 1 of the first match, kt Rolster’s top side dominated the whole game. They took Gwen and Sett in the draft and took the lead when they won the teamfight around the Rift Herald. DRX selected a charging composition, but they lacked the damage to take down Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon’s Gwen and Kim “Dove” Jae-yeon’s Sett.

Game 2 was kt Rolster all the way as well. One of the biggest reasons was that DRX didn’t ban Dove’s Sett again. Although DRX struck back a few times, it wasn’t enough. As kt Rolster took big wins in the teamfights around the fourth dragon and the elder dragon, they closed the game without much trouble.

The next match was between Hanwha Life Esports and DWG KIA. DWG KIA came with the altered roster again, where mid laner Heo “ShowMaker” Su played in bot lane and jungler Kim “Canyon” Geon-bu played in mid lane. Hanwha Life Esports picked Yone in the mid lane for Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon which turned out to be a great choice. Chovy dominated Canyon from the laning phase and Hanwha Life Esports snowballed to victory.

In the second game, it was DWG KIA top laner Kim “Khan” Dong-ha to the rescue. Khan played Lee Sin and had a great performance in all skirmishes. Through Khan’s great performance, DWG KIA stood back up, hit back, and tied the game.

The one who laughed last was DWG KIA. DWG KIA selected Xin Zhao, Lulu, and Yuumi while Hanwha Life Esports took Gwen, Sett, and Vayne. Kim “Malrang” Geun-seong’s Xin Zhao had a bad start, but he was able to make the plays later on in the game. ShowMaker’s Ezreal also dealt massive damage throughout the game and DWG KIA took down Hanwha Life Esports.
