Team Liquid coach Joshua "Jatt" Leesman has resigned from the team effective immediately, the team confirmed Thursday in a press conference. Strategic coach Jonas "Kold" Andersen will take the helm as interim head coach until Team Liquid appoints another. Meanwhile, benched top laner Barney "Alphari" Morris will stay on a personal break till June 27, meaning he will skip this weekend's LCS games.

Alphari — considered by many to be one of the best top laners in the LCS and who came to Team Liquid on a multi-million deal — was benched from the starting roster at the start of the split after the first game of summer against TSM to the surprise of many. According to Team Liquid CEO Steve Arhancet, Alphari had personal issues affecting his motivation — a problem poorly handled by the organization over several conversation. Team Liquid CEO Steve Arhancet further confirmed publically that Jatt had submitted his resignation Tuesday.

Team Liquid will continue to operate with a six-man roster after Alphari's return, the team confirmed. Alphari and Jenkins will share the position, while Niship "Dhokla" Doshi, who joined Team Liquid just last week, will stay on the Academy roster.

Team Liquid further confirmed that jungler Lucas "Santorin" Larsen will also be taking an indefinite break to deal with health issues. Jonathan "Armao" Armao, who played for Team Liquid at the LCS Spring Playoffs, will take the position in the meantime.
