UPDATED 11/17: Astralis announced Tuesday their 2021 Spring roster, confirming earlier reports by Jacob Wolf about the roster rebuild around mid-laner Erlend "Nukeduck" Våtevik Holm. Astralis is the first LEC team to fully lock-in their 2021 season roster.

Original story:

Astralis looking to make more changes to its League of Legends squad after its Origen-retiring rebrand. For the 2021 League of Legends European Championship, it looks as if Astralis will be rebuilding around veteran mid laner Erlend "Nukeduck" Våtevik Holm with four players from regional leagues throughout Europe.

An initial report by Esportmaniacos stated that jungler jungle position Nikolay "Zanzarah" Akatov, AD carry Jesper "Jeskla" Klarin Strömberg, and support Hampus Mikael "promisq" Abrahamsson would be joining Astralis for 2021. The report was corroborated by ESPN Esports' Jacob Wolf on November 15 with the last signing for the starting position reported as top laner Matti "WhiteKnight" Sormunen.

WhiteKnight currently plays for Berlin International Gaming, the tier 2 League of Legends squad for BIG Clan, in the Pro Division of the Prime League. Zanzarah is currently jungling for AGO Rogue, Rogue's EU Masters team that competes in the Ultraliga, and most recently, qualified for off-season tournament Trinity Force Puchar Polski 2020.

Jeskla has played for mousesports for the majority of the past-season but boasts previous experience in the LEC with Excel Esports. In the 2019 Spring Split, Jeskla shared the starting AD carry position with Petter "Hjarnan" Freyschuss for XL, but found himself on XL.UK in the summer and has not returned to the LEC since.

When it comes to experience at the top level, promisq has it in spades. The veteran support has played at the top level of European LoL as part of Elements, FC Schalke 04, and H2K with little success, but enjoyed plenty of success as G2 Esports' substitute player during its historic 2019 season despite only playing two games himself in the LEC Spring Split of that season.

Origen finished in 3rd in the 2020 LEC Spring Split and finished 4th in the Spring Playoffs, but completely collapsed in summer and finished in 10th place with a 6-12 record. Nukeduck is the only player from 2020 Origen who will don an Astralis jersey for next season.
