FlyQuest; Golden Guardians solo laners run rampant in Fantasy Week 8

Week 8 of Inven Global's Esports One League of Legends Fantasy League was dominated by the 2020 League of Legends Championship Series Summer Split. All Top Scorers came from performances in week 8 of the LCS, and only two of six of the Booms for the week came from week 7 of the 2020 League of Legends European Championship. Let's take a look at who racked up the points before the last week of both the LCS and LEC Summer Splits take place in fantasy week 9.

FlyQuest continued its resurgence with another 2-0 week, but unlike last week, the team was well-represented in this week's top scorers. FlyQuest Jungler Lucas "Santorin" Tao Kilmer Larsen, Mid Laner Tristan "PowerOfEvil" Schrage, Bot Laner Jason "Wildturtle" Tran, and Support Lee "IgNar" Dong-geun all boasted top marks in their respective roles.

Wildturtle's 69.17 points was also the biggest boom in the AD Carry position, and PowerOfEvil's 80.92 points are the most of any LCS player this summer. Only one player has scored higher than POE — FC Schalke 04 Mid Laner Felix "Abbedagge" Braun scored 87.28 points last week.

Golden Guardians upset Cloud9 this week on its way to qualifying for the 2020 LCS Summer Playoffs, and a win over Counter Logic Gaming makes GG 8-3 in its last 11 games after a 1-4 start to the split. GG Top Laner Kevin "Hauntzer" Yarnell's was the top scorer and biggest boom amongst all Top Laners, and Tanner "Damonte" Damonte's great Syndra performance against C9 powered him to the top of all mid lane scores.

Golden Guardians and FlyQuest were the fantasy stars of the weekend, but two other LCS organizations were also represented. Team Liquid, who now has sole possession of 1st place, scored the most points of any team in the LCS or LEC, and new TSM Support Erik "Treatz" Wessén continued to settle into his promotion from TSM Academy by claiming the top score amongst all Support players this weekend.

Across the pond, FC Schalke 04 Jungler Erberk "Gilius" Demir was the highlight of his team's second 2-0 week in a row, scoring 52.01 points in dramatic fashion for the biggest boom at the position of Jungler. G2 Esports has struggled in the 2020 LEC Summer Split, but a 2-0 week against Team Vitality and Fnatic earned the team the biggest boom of any team with 59 points for $260,000.

Speaking of struggling top teams; Cloud9 suffered its first 0-2 week in 2020 after losses to Golden Guardians and TSM. Cloud9 is now tied for 2nd place with TSM behind Team Liquid, and both Mid Laner Yasin "Nisqy" Dincer and AD Carry Jesper "Zven" Svenningsen were the biggest buffs in their respective positions. Evil Geniuses Top Laner Heo "Huni" Seung-hoon, who has started for the team ever since the signing of Mid Laner Greyson "Goldenglue" Gilmer, was the biggest top lane bust.

Fnatic struggled mightily in week 7 of the 2020 LEC Summer Split. Jungler Oskar "Selfmade" Boderek and Support Zdravets "Hylissang" Iliev Galabov have been subjects of criticism for their performances, and being the biggest busts at both of their respective positions probably won't help that. Origen's 0-2 week against Schalke and MAD Lions saw the team become the biggest bust for the week, only managing to score 18 points at a $240,000 value.
