DRX Pyosik: "While I do believe that the teamwork’s gotten a lot tighter, we still have a long way to go."

On the 19th (KST), DragonX took down Team Dynamics on day 25 of the 2020 LCK Summer split. With a set score of 2-0, DragonX asserted their dominance as the number 1 team in the LCK. The jungler for DRX, Pyosik, joined the press room at LoL Park to share his thoughts on the victory.

The following is Pyosik’s post-match interview with the press.

It was a clean 2-0 victory against Team Dynamics. How do you feel?

I’m glad the practice paid off.

DRX’s draft in game 1 was really good. Not only did the lane assignments of the champions remain unpredictable until the end, the synergy between Yuumi and the rest of the composition was on point as well. What are your thoughts on the team’s composition in game 1?

When Sett was open, we decided that Sett was going to go mid, and left the jungle pick until the 4th/5th pick and even left open the possibility of an AP champion. Basically, we prepared for many scenarios.

Your performance on Ekko in game 1 was quite stellar.

I think I didn’t make any mistakes throughout most of the game, but because of the pressure, I failed to ult in the end. That’s what I’m most disappointed about.

Despite your great performance, I think you didn’t receive the Player of the Game (POG) because of that one death in the end.

I never really cared too much about being named POG. My performance and the team’s victory is far more important. POG really doesn’t matter to me.

You’ve been playing quite phenomenally in DRX’s recent games.

While I do believe that the teamwork’s gotten a lot tighter, we still have a long way to go.

In your opinion, what does the team need to improve?

I think our fundamental macro play’s alright now, but detailed bits during dives and teamfights are sometimes disappointing.

Next match is the revenge match against kt Rolster. What have you learned from the loss against KT?

We found our flaws in our loss against KT, and we fixed our mistakes to perfect our play. We’re very confident that we’re going to win in that match.

Between Smeb and TusiN, which player is easier to face?

I don’t think it’ll really matter who we face.

I heard Deft has back problems. Are you worried about his health?

I just think, ‘Ah, it must hurt a lot!’ I tease him about it sometimes, but I always ask him if he needs some help.

Lastly, is there anything you’d like to say?

We picked up a great victory in round 2 of the Summer split. We’ll continue to perform better, in our upcoming matches, especially against Gen.G and DAMWON Gaming as well.
