Jo Hyuk-jin is appointed as the new head of Riot Games Korea.

On June 30th (KST), it was announced that Jo Hyuk-jin, the former director of Riot Games Korea, will be appointed as the new head of Riot Games Korea.

Jo joined RIot Games in 2011, before the official launch of the KR server. Since then, he’s been in charge of many departments within the company, from game operations, service, promotions, to general affairs.

Following the passing of the former head of Riot Korea, the late Park Jun-kyu, board members have cooperated in taking charge and leading the company.

This year, not only did Riot Games release new titles such as Legends of Runeterra and VALORANT, they’re also preparing to take the next step in esports with the franchising in the LCK. They explained that with this appointment, they hope to continue providing the best service with an ironclad ‘player-focused’ philosophy.

Jo will be in office as the new head of Riot Games Korea starting July 1st, and will be taking over the shoes of the late Park Jun-kyu.
