On the 5th (KST), DAMWON Gaming shut out T1 2-0 in the 2020 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) Spring Split. With the win, DAMWON continued their winning streak and stepped up to 4th place in the standings. Top laner Jang “Nuguri” Ha-gwon and support Cho “BeryL” Geon-hee were voted as players of the games and were interviewed by the casters’ desk.

Congrats on today’s win. You defeated T1. How do you feel?

Nuguri: I was pretty nervous because we were playing against one of the top teams. I’m happy that we won 2-0.

BeryL: I thought the match would be a lot more close. I’m a bit confused that we won this easy.

Not only the score was 2-0, but the games were also very fast. What’s the reason for such good performance today?

BeryL: We just lived and practiced as we always did. Nothing really changed.

You played Sion and Maokai support. How did you prepare?

BeryL: When we play Senna, playing a tank champion seemed right and there were many champions that were good. I picked the ones that I’m the most confident in playing.

How is it playing with Ghost?

BeryL: When playing a Senna comp, it’s important for the bot laner to play like a support. Ghost has good comprehension in that matter.

(To Nuguri) You played very well against Canna.

Nuguri: I didn’t think I would be able to solo kill him the first time, but it was good that I did. The second solo kill was possible because I was already ahead.

Are you aware that you have the most isolated deaths among the players in the LCK? What do you think you need to fix?

Nuguri: (Laughs) I know. I’m trying to improve myself in that regard. I made the same mistake today as well. I think I should fix this habit.

BeryL was voted unanimously as the POG in Game 2, but ShowMaker did quite well too.

BeryL: Before today’s match started, ShowMaker said that today was the day to play Corki. His item build was a bit weird so I asked him about it, but he insisted that it was the correct build.

You played several champions as Senna’s partner. Do you have more prepared?

BeryL: I’ve played a lot of champions from before. If the situation is right, I could pick other champions as well.

Lastly, a word to the fans?

Nuguri: I was very sorry to the fans when we were on a losing streak. Now that we’re back on track by winning like this, I’m happy that we were able to show our proper performances. I’d like to see all the fans in the arena again soon.
