FlyQuest Academy was eliminated from post-season contention after losing its final game of the 2020 League of Legends Academy League Championship Series Spring Split to Golden Guardians Academy. As a result, Team Liquid Academy automatically became the sixth and final team to qualify for the 2020 LCS Academy League Spring Playoffs.

FlyQuest Academy entered the day with its post-season hopes hinging on two outcomes. First, FLY Academy would have to defeat Golden Guardians to finish the season at 8-10. Then, TL Academy would have to lose to Cloud9 Academy to bring its record to 8-10. If the two teams had tied, then FLY Academy's 2-0 head-to-head record over TL Academy would have earned the former the final spot in the Spring Playoffs.

The squad on TL Academy are most certainly big fans of GG Academy right now. The 1st place C9 Academy has won 11 games in a row, and stopping that streak with post-season qualification on the line would have been a tall order. Instead, TL Academy will join C9 Academy, Dignitas Academy, Evil Geniuses Academy, 100 Thieves Academy, and TSM Academy in the Spring Playoffs.

FlyQuest will have to watch the post-season from the sidelines with Golden Guardians Academy, Immortals Academy, and Counter Logic Gaming Academy. So long, and thanks for all the trees.
