Benjamin "DrLupo" Lupo raised over 2.3 million dollars in a 24-hour Twitch.tv stream on Saturday, December 21st. The Rogue streamer raised the money on behalf of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, whose primary goal is to fight against, prevent, and research a cure for cancer, specifically in the cases of children.

DrLupo's charity stream was a highlight of a larger effort unofficially referred to as the Build Against Cancer campaign. DrLupo and Twitch's tweets and posts have featured Build Against Cancer in the form of a hashtag, and DrLupo is also selling the Build Against Cancer T-shirt he was shown wearing during the stream. Over 350 shirts have been sold, and over $5000 has been raised from shirt sales alone.

In addition to being the sponsored organization of DrLupo, Rogue is also known for its young, fiery League of Legends squad. Rogue's squad shocked all of Europe with a top 4 finish in the 2019 LEC Summer Finals after a miserable 10th place, 2-16 finish in the Spring Split only a few months prior.

Sources told Inven Global earlier in December that Dignitas was paying Top Laner Huni "Heo" Seung-hoon at least $2.3 million for a contract that would span the 2020 and 2021 LCS seasons. Rogue was quick to reference the contract as a unit of measurement for DrLupo's efforts.

Jokes aside, DrLupo's efforts and the consequential results cannot be understated, and showcase one of many ways that a stream-based community can rally around a cause with a level of organization and rallying unparalleled in most, if not all other online communities.
