The Doom Slayer, a veteran at slaughtering demons, returns in a more feral form in 'Revelation.'

In 'Revelation,' the first campaign expansion for 'Doom: The Dark Ages,' the Doom Slayer is wounded, betrayed, and cast into a merciless purgatory. Upon falling into this abyss, he no longer possesses the armor that once protected him, nor his iconic helmet and Shield Saw. Instead, entirely new equipment fills the void. With a look reminiscent of a barbarian warrior and a new weapon—the 'Chain Spear'—in hand, the Doom Slayer embarks on another blood-soaked journey to escape purgatory.

The ways to utilize the Chain Spear are endless. You can swing it like a glaive to sweep away hordes of enemies in front of you, or conversely, hurl it with great force like a javelin to target a single foe. You can even spin the shaft rapidly to temporarily deflect enemy projectiles. Beyond that, you can connect a chain to an enemy after a successful hit to perform dynamic wire-based maneuvers, or plunge the spear into the ground from the air to unleash a powerful shockwave.

While the Chain Spear is powerful on its own, it exhibits exceptional synergy when used alongside the reforged Shield Saw. With the ability to freely wield a variety of weapons—from guns and shields to spears—the game is set to deliver the greatest action catharsis in the history of the Doom series.

'Doom: The Dark Ages - Revelation' is scheduled for official release on July 8.
