Spiritstead, a cozy game about building a village alongside magical spirits, launched on Steam on August 7. It is priced at ₩10,700, with a 10% launch discount bringing it to ₩9630.
European indie developer Turbo Dog Games announced that its debut title, the cozy city-builder Spiritstead, was released on PC via Steam at 2:00 AM on August 7. The game was developed with support from WINGS and includes Korean interface and subtitle support.
Spiritstead is a single-player city-building game where players join forces with magical spirits to create a peaceful community. Starting on a magical plot of land with only a few houses, players must provide housing for residents, assign them suitable jobs, and expand the village.

Constructible facilities include cafes, markets, farms, gardens, taverns, and campfires. Each resident has unique needs and preferences, requiring players to monitor their demands while managing facilities and employment. As the village grows, new buildings, decorations, and upgrades are unlocked.
There are no systems requiring rapid growth or the completion of tasks within a set time limit. Players can move buildings, redecorate spaces, or redesign the entire village layout, allowing them to progress at their own pace.
Magical spirits that assist with operations are hidden throughout the village. By interacting with the environment and discovering hidden elements, players can meet spirits with unique appearances and abilities. Once discovered, these spirits stay in the village to care for residents or manage specific facilities.
Some spirits can be assigned repetitive tasks, such as producing and transporting resources. Players can deploy spirits according to the village's needs, automating parts of the operation to create a community where residents and spirits live in harmony.

Diana of Turbo Dog Games said, "We grew up watching Hayao Miyazaki's films and were captivated by the warmth, wonder, and cozy atmosphere of those worlds. We wanted to capture that same sense of comfort in Spiritstead, adding our own touch with a hand-drawn art style and whimsical, lovable spirits."
The game offers an 'Adventure Mode' focused on goals and a 'Creative Mode' for free-form building. 'Adventure Mode' provides about 6 to 8 hours of gameplay, covering the process from building the first house to gathering residents, discovering spirits, and growing the settlement.
The ultimate goal of 'Adventure Mode' is to restore the long-abandoned 'Great Spirit Sanctuary.' As the village develops, players must combine the efforts of residents and spirits to revive the site. By focusing on the process of the village gradually regaining its vitality rather than complex resource management or harsh failure conditions, the game is designed to be accessible even to those unfamiliar with city-builders.

'Creative Mode' allows players to enjoy building and decorating without specific goals or progression requirements. Players can freely place buildings and decorations, redesign areas, and shape their settlement according to their own preferences, whether for operational efficiency or aesthetic appeal.
The entire game features warm, hand-drawn graphics. The developer explained that they aimed to create a world that feels like a living coloring book, with personality and detailed animations for buildings, residents, and spirits alike.
Turbo Dog Games is a four-person European indie studio founded in January 2025. Spiritstead is the first title released by the team since its formation.
Spiritstead is available for single-player on PC via Steam. The domestic price is ₩10,700, and it can be purchased for ₩9630 with the 10% launch discount.
