KAIJU NO. 8 THE GAME has officially launched on PC via Steam, publisher Akatsuki Games announced Wednesday. The release expands access for fans of the anime-inspired role-playing title, which debuted worldwide on mobile in August.
The Steam version allows players to link their accounts with the mobile release, carrying progress across platforms. The PC launch coincides with a major content update introducing “Main Story Chapter 4: London Defense Operation,” alongside new characters and weapons.
Chapter 4 centers on a dimensional gate that appears in London, forcing Kafka Hibino, Kikoru Shinomiya, and Gen Narumi’s squad into battle against an armored Kaiju. Players also meet Chester Lochburn, a new ★5 character and former British defense force captain. Known as “The All-Rounder,” Chester utilizes a wide arsenal of weapons, with his optimal loadout being an assault rifle. His companion weapon, the AR-Anollococ, joins the update as a featured item.
Meanwhile, Kikoru Shinomiya receives her own ★5 form, “The Inherited Will,” equipped with a gauntlet-based weapon called Fs-Magni. This storyline follows Kikoru as she inherits techniques from her late father, Japan Defense Force commander Isao Shinomiya, and seeks to prove herself on the battlefield.
New Gacha Event and Player Rewards
To celebrate the launch, Akatsuki Games has introduced a limited-time Gacha Festival highlighting Chester and Kikoru’s new ★5 forms. For every three 10-pulls, players will receive an additional 10-pull free, though the mechanic does not apply to single pulls or across separate character banners.
Players logging in during the update window can also earn up to 10 pickup Gacha tickets as part of a release bonus campaign. Additionally, new character stories shed light on Chester’s past and Kikoru’s personal resolve, adding narrative depth beyond the main storyline.

KAIJU NO. 8 THE GAME is based on the manga series by Naoya Matsumoto and the anime adaptation produced by TOHO and Production I.G. The manga has sold more than 19 million copies worldwide, and the anime’s second season is currently airing in Japan and streaming globally.
