The Esports Foundation (EF) announced that the finals for the PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS) event at the Esports World Cup 2026 (EWC 2026) began on the 24th.

Twenty-four world-class teams participated in the EWC 2026 PUBG event, with the top 16 teams from the Group Stage advancing to the three-day Grand Finals. The final champion will be crowned on the 26th, the last day of the Grand Finals.

Three teams from Korea—T1, Geekay, and Gen.G—advanced to the Grand Finals after passing the Group Stage. These three teams will compete for the title against major powerhouses, including defending champion Twisted Minds, Virtus.pro, NAVI, and AG.AL.

Meanwhile, DN SOOPers (DNS) finished the tournament in 18th place overall after accumulating 53 points in the group stage. Despite being considered a favorite to win the tournament due to their strong performance in the PUBG Global Series (PGS), DN SOOPers failed to secure a spot in the Grand Finals, which are reserved for the top 16 teams.

The final day of the Grand Finals will determine the winner using a match-point system. If a team reaches the match-point threshold and then wins a subsequent match, they are immediately declared the champion. If multiple teams reach the match-point threshold, the competition continues among those eligible for the win. Since teams must win a match after reaching the match-point threshold to secure the title, the competition is expected to remain intense until the very end.
