2K announced on the 23rd that it has unveiled the cover athletes for 'NBA 2K27,' the latest installment in the NBA video game simulation series.

The lineup features three players who define their respective eras, all sharing the distinction of being No. 1 overall draft picks and Rookie of the Year winners.

First, Victor Wembanyama, a two-time NBA All-Star for the San Antonio Spurs and the first-ever unanimous NBA Defensive Player of the Year (DPOY), has been selected as the cover athlete for the Standard Edition. Wembanyama holds the honor of being the first Spurs player to grace an NBA 2K cover.

Next, Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark has been named the cover athlete for the Deluxe Edition, setting a record as the first WNBA player to appear solo on a global premium edition cover rather than a shared one. A 2024 Kia WNBA Rookie of the Year and three-time WNBA All-Star, she is the first player from the Fever to be featured on an NBA 2K cover.

Finally, Chicago Bulls legend, three-time NBA All-Star, and the youngest MVP in NBA history, Derrick Rose, has been selected as the cover athlete for the NBA 2K27 Ultra Edition. This marks Rose's second time as a cover athlete, following his appearance on the cover of NBA 2K13 in 2013.

NBA 2K27 will be released on September 4 for PlayStation 5 (PS5), Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (Steam), and will be available in three editions: Standard, Deluxe, and the limited-time Ultra Edition.
