If you've finished your journey through Sanctuary—perhaps by setting up endgame gear and clearing Pit Tier 150—or if your main character's progression has started to slow down, you might be thinking about leveling up a sub-character. Here are a few tips to help you level up your sub-character quickly in Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred.
1. 7 Whisper Caches (at Torment 1) to reach level 70
2. Stock up on 2500 Obols
3. Collect plenty of spare Runes
4. 1 Legendary Glyph (with an extra socket if possible)
5. Gather plenty of crafting materials like Prisms and Forgotten Souls

Max level in just a few clicks
Creating a new character can often feel tedious when you have to grind back to level 70. While you could replay the story or level up through content like Helltides, there is a much simpler way.
If you save up Whisper Caches earned on your main character or EXP Tomes from seasonal quests, you can hit level 70 instantly upon logging into your sub-character. At Torment 1, seven Whisper Caches provide enough EXP to take a level 1 character straight to 70. Since Paragon levels and extra skill points earned on your main are shared across the server, once you hit 70, you can simply distribute your Paragon board and skill tree according to your planned build.

Gear setup is quick for sub-characters
Next, it's time to gear up. You can easily obtain level 70 gear from the Whisper Caches or dungeon caches you collected on your main. Don't worry if you can't get a full set of Ancestral gear right away; it's not a major issue.
Once you have gear with item power 850+ in every slot, it's time to farm for Legendary Aspects. You can hunt for them directly, but a faster way to get the core aspects for your build is to use your Obols to buy items for the slots you need, upgrade them to Legendary, and then salvage them.
After that, you can fuse the spare Runes you saved on your main to collect five of the Runes you need, then use the random reroll feature to complete your 5-set bonus at once.

Things to note before you start farming
From here, your path depends on how much Ancestral gear you've collected. If you already have Ancestral pieces for every slot, craft some placeholder gear to use until you find items with the right affixes. Then, head into the Pit to get Glyphs and unlock higher Torment difficulties.
If you didn't have the time to pre-farm Ancestral gear, it's perfectly fine to jump straight into the Pit. Thanks to the Paragon levels from your main, you can clear the early Torment stages without any specialized gear.
I did this with my Sorcerer. Even with low Paragon levels and no set Runes or Legendary Aspects, I was able to clear up to Pit Tier 30 comfortably.
Once you have all the Glyphs you need, you can choose to prioritize upgrading your Legendary Glyphs or start leveling your Mercenary. Keep in mind that this season, Mercenary levels are not shared, so make sure to prioritize leveling them over other content like Undercity runs.
