Canada is coming into the 2019 Overwatch World Cup ranked as the #2 team in the competition behind South Korea. However, Team Canada might have trouble immediately replicating its dominant form from last year as Main Tank Félix "xQc" Lengyel will miss CAN's first match in the OWWC.

The news was brought to light by xQc on his stream, where he stated he would not be available to play in Team Canada's first game in the World Cup due to a 'new game content release'. The Canadian tank also said that Liam "Mangachu" Campbell would be taking his place in the first game at the Main Tank position.

Mangachu, who is currently signed with Toronto Defiant, Splyce's Overwatch League franchise, primarily utilized in the Flex DPS position. However, his flexibility will certainly be tested in making a previously unexpected debut in the Main Tank position.

No details have been released regarding xQc's potential participation in a new game content release or anything similar at BlizzCon 2019, but it is possible that as one of Overwatch's most popular streamers, xQc could be featured for something revealing the heavily rumored Overwatch 2.

Team Canada will still remain a top competitor at OWWC 2019, especially with xQc only missing one game, but an early misstep with a patchwork starting six wouldn't be out of the question for the squad and could be crucial as the tournament progresses.
