Atlanta Reign Sign Remaining "Last Night's Leftovers" Players to Academy Team

The Atlanta Reign announced their new Academy roster this afternoon and it consists of none other than Last Night's Leftovers (LNL), now known as Atlanta Academy. The team will represent Atlanta Reign in North American Overwatch Contenders this season.

"Thanksgiving is over and it's Reigning Leftovers. It is our pleasure to announce that @LeftoversOW will be competing as @ATLReign's Academy team in Season 3 (2018) of @OverwatchContenders!" announced ATL Academy on Twitter

Prior to the acquisition, LNL's remaining members were Alex "Ajax" Jackson, Kamden "Sugarfree" Hijada, and Dusttin "Dogman" Bowerman. All three have joined Atlanta Academy, with Blake "Gator" Scott, Xander "Hawk" Domecq, and Garrett "Saucy" Roland rounding out the roster.

LNL became a fan-favorite Tier 2 team for their story of strife and triumph as a continually unsponsored Contenders team. The team finished first place in Season 2 of NA Contenders Trials, then performed poorly in Contenders Season 2 before finally finishing in second place at Season 5 of the BEAT Invitational.

"I went through some dark times in OW. Pre-S1 no team even wanted to try me out, like I was the plague. Players and most of the community said I was trash. Never give up on your dreams even if everyone tells you otherwise. Next goal is owl, thanks for the continued support," wrote Ajax on Twitter following the announcement.

Dogman echoed the sentiment, writing, "Okay now we make OWL.. Eggscited for the season."
