Information regarding Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch League is slowly being revealed to the public. According to Sports Business Daily, Activision Blizzard will announce the first buyers of the Overwatch League soon.
Sports Business Daily also wrote that although it could depend on the success of the league’s first season, Activision Blizzard predicts to sell at least 28 franchises around the globe.
This information is the latest regarding Overwatch Esports after the 6 cities participating in the Overwatch League were announced last week. The preliminaries for the Overwatch World Cup will be held in Shanghai, China soon, and fans around the world expect that more information will be revealed in Shanghai.
Also, Jacob Wolf, the reporter who first reported the 6 cities participating in the Overwatch League, mentioned on his Twitter that, according to ESPN, Blizzard will be announcing the six founding members of the Overwatch League tomorrow. He also wrote that although not all information is credible, a lot of companies have decided to participate in the Overwatch League.
Fans who have been waiting for a bigger Overwatch Esports league are anxious to see if the information will be found true. Sports Business Daily also wrote that the first season of the Overwatch League will be kicking off this December. Considering that there are other events hosted by Blizzard including the Overwatch World Cup, BlizzCon, and Overwatch Contenders, it will be a reasonable schedule for Blizzard and Overwatch.
