Seoul Popcon, a pop culture content festival, will be rebranded as CCXP Korea and is scheduled to be held in 2027.
CCXP Korea, which began as Seoul Comic Con in 2017, changed its name to Seoul Popcon—an abbreviation for 'Seoul Pop Culture Convention'—in 2022, expanding its scope beyond the original Comic Con content to include games, the metaverse, and more. Starting in 2027, the event will operate under the name CCXP Korea.
CCXP is the world's largest pop culture convention, which originated in Brazil in 2014. The event features exhibitions of content such as films, dramas, comics, music, animation, cosplay, and voice acting, and includes appearances by stars and major studios sharing various announcements.
CCXP Korea is a pop culture festival that combines the foundation of Seoul Popcon with CCXP's global network. Although originally planned for 2026, the event will officially launch in 2027 following internal discussions and preparations for global partnerships. The year 2026 will serve as an integrated preparation period for the event.
The venue will also move from the COEX in Seoul to KINTEX in Ilsan. CCXP Korea stated that the relocation was decided based on the event environment and the need for greater spatial scalability, adding that they plan to systematically prepare programs, exhibition layouts, global collaborations, and fan experiences.
Further information regarding CCXP Korea can be found on the former Seoul Popcon official website and social media channels.
