On June 19, taking place at 8 PM(KST), through an official stream hosted by 'Blizzard', the roster that will be playing to represent Korea in the ‘Overwatch World Cup 2017’ has been revealed.

The players that were chosen are as follows: ‘Mano’ of Afreeca Freecs Blue and ‘Zumba’ of Lunatic Hai will be representing Korea as the two tankers; ‘Saebyolbe’ and ‘FL0w3R’ who are both from LW Blue will be playing in the DPS role; and finally, ‘Tobi’ and ‘ryujehong’ of Lunatic Hai will be playing as the team's two healers.

The selection of the players was done by the members of Korea's 'World Cup Overwatch Committee', who were voted on May by fellow Overwatch players. The committee consists of three members; and the members are as follows: Themarine(Caster), Runner(Founder of Runaway), and Yongbongtang(Caster). The selection of players made by the committee was submitted on June 2nd. The players were chosen according to their level of skill in individual mechanics, communication, team synergy, and their past performance in national tournaments.

On the very first 'Overwatch World Cup' that took place at 'Blizzcon' last year, the team that represented Korea left an astounding record of not dropping a single game during the tournament. As many players of Korea proved to the world how capable they were, they naturally gained the attention of fans from around the world. While watching OGN’s Overwatch APEX League, many fans made predictions for Korea’s World Cup roster.

Directed by the World Cup Overwatch Committee, the players will head to Katowice Poland, in preparation for their group stages. Korea will be in ‘Group E’ with Netherland, Poland, and Austria. If they succeed in becoming the top two team in the group, they will face off against the top two teams of ‘Group F’ in the playoffs. If they win the playoffs, they will be qualified for the finals, which will be taken place at Anaheim on the stages of Blizzcon during November.
