On the 20th, Smilegate hosted 'The Seasons,' an organizational culture program designed for the emotional well-being of its employees, at its headquarters. The event focused on helping staff find comfort and recharge their energy amidst their busy daily lives, serving as an opportunity to reaffirm the true significance of art-based organizational culture programs.

The theme for this year's 'The Seasons' is 'Garden.' The venue was filled with a colorful array of vases, paired with 'mind color cards' that reflected the participants' pre-event emotional states. Participants chose vases that matched their mind colors, taking time to smell the flowers and feel their textures, allowing them to visualize and acknowledge their own inner states.
Docent Choi Ye-rim, who led the event, emphasized the importance of emotional acceptance, explaining, "Just as a garden changes its appearance with the seasons—spring, summer, autumn, and winter—the various emotions we feel in our daily lives are also a very natural phenomenon."
The core of the program involved exploring the gardens and lives of four master artists. The participants received four distinct types of comfort: Claude Monet, who used his 3,000-pyeong garden as a canvas to paint his 'Water Lilies' even as he lost his sight; Auguste Renoir, who created beautiful garden scenes even after his hands were stiffened by rheumatoid arthritis; Raoul Dufy, who maintained a positive outlook despite war and illness; and Bernard Buffet, who projected his honest emotions onto the image of a lonely garden.

Following the lecture, participants selected postcards of the artists who best reflected their own feelings. They then arranged flowers—such as tulips, roses, and gerberas—matched to those artists' gardens, completing the experience by creating a one-of-a-kind 'personal garden' that blended their initial emotions with a sense of purification.
Such emotional care programs go beyond simple corporate welfare. Recently, the IT industry in Pangyo has been focusing on introducing healing programs to help employees restore psychological stability. Smilegate has been running 'The Seasons' since last year to foster an environment where members can reflect on and care for their emotions in their daily lives, ultimately aiming to improve work engagement.
Art therapy based on masterpieces is interpreted as having the effect of resting a brain exhausted by work and infusing it with positive energy. In knowledge-based industries where creativity and ideas are competitive advantages, the healthy mental state of employees is directly linked to improved work efficiency and productivity. This event, which strengthens employee resilience through art and nature, is expected to serve as a solid foundation for sustainable corporate management.
