Dplus KIA completes Hong Kong finals lineup at 2026 LCK Cup Playoffs

Dplus KIA secured the final spot at the 2026 LCK Cup Finals after defeating T1 in the Playoffs, joining Gen.G and BNK FEARX on the trip to Hong Kong.

The League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK), South Korea’s top-tier League of Legends competition operated by Riot Games, concluded the decisive week of its LCK Cup Playoffs at LoL Park in Seoul. The matches determined both the finalists and the teams advancing to the season’s first international event.

Gen.G maintains unbeaten run

Gen.G continued its undefeated streak with a 3-1 victory over BNK PierX in the winners’ bracket final. Whilst both teams had already qualified for Hong Kong, the series decided which roster would advance directly to the grand final.

BNK PierX opened aggressively in the first game; however, Gen.G stabilised the early pressure and turned the match around. Top laner Kim ‘Giin’ Gi-in played a central role throughout the series, earning Player of the Match honours following several key teamfight performances.

Despite conceding one game, Gen.G closed the series 3-1. The result extended the organisation’s flawless run from the group stage and secured a second consecutive LCK Cup Finals appearance.

In addition to its finals berth, Gen.G also locked qualification for the First Stand Tournament (FST), Riot Games’ new international event featuring regional kickoff winners.

Dplus KIA claims last Hong Kong ticket

Dplus KIA completed the finals lineup after overcoming T1 in one of the Playoffs’ most closely contested series.

Following an earlier 1-3 loss to Gen.G, Dplus KIA rebounded with a 3-1 victory over DN Supers. The organisation carried that momentum into its elimination match against T1.

After falling behind early in the series, Dplus KIA mounted a reverse sweep. Jungler Choi ‘Lucid’ Yong-hyeok proved instrumental in the deciding games, helping the team secure critical neutral objectives during late-game engagements.

A pivotal fight around the 27-minute mark of the final game saw Dplus KIA eliminate T1’s top laner before securing both Dragon and Baron Nashor, effectively sealing the comeback victory.

The win marked Dplus KIA’s first series victory over T1 in approximately one year.

Finals schedule and international implications

With the Playoffs concluded, Gen.G advanced directly to the LCK Cup grand final. Dplus KIA and BNK FEARX will meet in the final stage match on February 28th, with the winner progressing to face Gen.G.

Beyond the domestic title, the Finals carry international significance. The eventual champion will join Gen.G as Korea’s representatives at the First Stand Tournament.

Introduced as part of Riot Games’ revised competitive calendar, the First Stand Tournament headlines the early season, followed later by the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) and the League of Legends World Championship (Worlds).

The 2026 LCK Cup Finals will take place at Kai Tak Arena in Hong Kong, with matches broadcast via the LCK’s official streaming platforms.
