CONBOX Spirit Gamsu: “The match against MVP Space is significant to enter the quarterfinals."

Youngjin “Gamsu” Roh emphasized the importance of the match against MVP Space.

In Round 1 of Overwatch Hot6 APEX Season 3 Day 8 at the Seoul OGN eStadium on May 23, CONBOX Spirit claimed the first victory of the season against Flash Lux with a set score of 3:0. Gamsu played a significant role in the team’s victory and had some great moments with his teammates. Not only did he show impeccable skills as Winston, he also used Orisa to lead the team to a quick victory.

The following is the interview with CONBOX Spirit’s Gamsu.

Q. What are your thoughts after claiming victory?

The match was against Flash Lux, the team known to be the weakest in Group C, so we participated in the match thinking that we must win.

Q. It was a rather easy win. Did you predict that it would be?

I sort of predicted the outcome when we were analyzing Flash Lux’s matches. Although Junsung “Asher” Choi, Minho “Architect” Park, and Geumyong “SleepyBear” Lee were quite nervous during the first set and the team faltered a bit, we managed to pull ourselves together in the end.

Q. You picked Orisa in King’s Row.

I have a lot of interests in new heroes. Orisa is the first new hero among tank heroes. I picked her several times during my personal stream, and also in practices. I thought that I had a chance to use her so I did it. She is capable of a long ranged poking and she can also attack and defend at the same time, and I think that is her biggest merit.

Q. Who do you think would be the one that contributed the most to victory?

I would like to nominate Juseok “Twilight” Lee. He did a really good job pulling other nervous teammates together and played his role magnificently in the game as well.

Q. It has been awhile since you switched to Overwatch. What are your thoughts on it?

I believe that I am a better Overwatch player than a LoL player. I used to have moments where I had to overcome difficulties when I was a pro LoL player, but I do not have such times when I am playing Overwatch. I feel that Overwatch is more personally suited to me.

Q. You are about to have a match against MVP Space.

That match is crucial since it will decide who gains entrance to the quarterfinals. We would like to put everything we have into the match, and I believe that we will succeed with coach Dongsu Sin, who often prevents us from going in wrong directions.

Q. Any opponent player you’re keeping your eyes on?

Daegeuk “Kuki” Kim is the one. I am quite competitive in terms of winning the game. Of course, it would be good to win a match as a team, but a competition against a player in the same position is a totally different story.

Q. Any last words?

I would like to show my gratitudes to the coach and the manager Wook Lee, and also to the fans who always cheer us up. Please continue your support and interest in CONBOX Spirit.
