On June 19, Mabinogi Mobile hosted the 'Big Campfire Showcase: Season 2 Light and Darkness' via its official YouTube channel.
The showcase unveiled new content and updates arriving with the Mabinogi Mobile Season 2: Light and Darkness update. Hosted by caster Seong Seung-heon, the presentation featured Lee Jin-hoon, Mabinogi Mobile Director at devCAT, who took the stage to detail the upcoming changes.
Director Lee Jin-hoon stated, "I sincerely thank the adventurers who have been waiting for Season 2," adding, "This update will include Chapter 5 of "Goddess' Descent," along with new dungeons, hunting grounds, and comprehensive growth-related updates."

Goddess' Descent Chapter 5 & Season 2 New Hunting Grounds

In Chapter 4, adventurers investigating anomalies across Eirínn discovered that the Dragon Hood was plotting a ritual to summon something. In the upcoming Chapter 5, players will track the Dragon Hood and confront the new threat looming over Eirínn.
This update introduces new hunting grounds: the Pale Mountain, Fiodh Dungeon, and Rundal Dungeon. The Pale Mountain features a new field boss, Angrboda. Upon defeating Angrboda, players can obtain loot such as Mystic Dice Key Chests, enchantments, and Seals of the Red Moon.
The Seal of the Red Moon is the top-tier seal for Season 2, improved to provide bonuses to all stats. Its effects scale incrementally based on usage: the first use grants a guaranteed +40 effect, with subsequent uses adding +5 per use, up to a maximum of 60.

Rundal Abyss is a deep-sea themed dungeon featuring three bosses: Caldred, Deathpell, and Terosa & Kraken. The dungeon consists of three areas: the Phantom Anchorage, the Cave of Madness, and the Scattered Waterways. Caldred, the boss of the Phantom Anchorage, features mechanics related to ghost ships.
The boss of the Cave of Madness is Deathpell, who has a hunger mechanic that requires players to feed it. Various mutated deep-sea creatures will also appear. In the Scattered Waterways, Terosa appears alongside a giant Kraken, offering dynamic combat that utilizes the entire field.
Rundal Abyss will initially launch with 'Introductory' and 'Hard' difficulties on July 2. 'Hell' difficulty will open on July 13, followed by 'Very Hard' on July 27. The Hell difficulty will be halved in scale; only 'Hell 1' will be available at launch to prevent fragmented goals through excessive difficulty adjustments.
Season 2 introduces a 'Solo' mode. This allows players who find party play challenging to experience all difficulties except for Hell. Rewards are provided at the same rate as party play, with buffs and difficulty adjustments applied to compensate for class-specific limitations in solo play.

Rewards for Rundal Abyss include Deep Sea Fossils and Deka. Deep Sea Fossils can be collected to exchange for Wishing Jars. Deka, a token for defeating monsters, can be used to purchase Deka Ore Chests; players can earn a total of three chests per week (one per dungeon) depending on the difficulty cleared. The amount of Deka received scales with the dungeon difficulty.
Following the opening of Hell difficulty, a seasonal event will allow players to purchase additional Deka. To ensure rewards are accessible even to those who do not play Hell difficulty weekly, Deka can be earned by clearing a Time Attack challenge once during the Abyss ranking season.
A major change in Season 2 is the addition of repeatable clear rewards. Players can farm Rune-Engraved Ornaments, Rune-Bound Ornaments, Monster Elimination Tokens, and new equipment crafting materials. This applies to regular and deep dungeons as well as the Abyss. Missions can now be cleared within dungeons, allowing entry without needing Silver Coins or Asmodian Tributes. This change is designed to remove play limits and provide additional growth opportunities.
Rune - Engraved and Rune - Bound Ornaments can be obtained in deep dungeons and the Abyss (excluding regular dungeons), with specific rewards varying by dungeon.

Season 2 New Growth Elements

Season 2 expands existing growth elements and introduces three new systems: Sorcerer Pressure, Season Skills, and Soul Stream.
Sorcerer Pressure is applied in areas such as the Abyss and raids. Higher Sorcerer Pressure reduces the damage dealt to enemies and increases the damage received from them.
To overcome Sorcerer Pressure, players need the 'Sorcerer Resistance' stat. If resistance is lower than the required pressure, damage dealt is significantly reduced; if higher, the effect is amplified. Resistance can be increased through Runes and Sorcerer Resistance equipment. Resistance gained from Runes is sufficient for play up to the 'Very Hard' Abyss difficulty.

Sorcerer Resistance equipment is the highest-performance gear in Season 2. It will be updated on June 25, with the most powerful 'Dracaine' weapons arriving on July 16. Dracaine weapons will be significantly harder to obtain than other gear. Sorcerer Resistance equipment can be obtained through crafting, drops, or the market. Gear drops as 'Unidentified' in the Abyss or dungeons, while Dracaine weapons are exclusive to crafting and the market.
Crafting requires a dedicated material called 'Magic Stones,' which can be obtained in the Abyss and dungeons through repeated play. Unidentified gear and Magic Stones can be traded on the market.

New skills tailored to seasonal themes will be added. Season Skills are passive skills that enhance class combat abilities. This season features the 'Traces of Night' skill, which will remain active until Season 3 before being replaced.
In addition to Season Skills, new class-specific passive skills are being added. These are unlocked upon reaching level 60; players who are already level 60 will receive them immediately after the update.

Soul Stream is a server-wide growth system designed for mid-to-long-term progression, ensuring that time and resources invested in characters carry over across seasons. It is unlocked after reaching the level cap and completing related quests. Further details will be revealed later.
Soul Stream consists of Stars, Dwarf Stars, and Souls. Stars and Dwarf Stars grant beneficial effects to characters, while Souls are the resources required to activate them. Effects apply to all characters on the server.
Souls can be obtained through dungeon rewards, gold, events, or membership, and are also produced automatically regardless of login status. There are three types, and production speed increases based on the combined Combat Power, Vitality, and Charm of all characters on the server, with diminishing returns at higher levels.
Stars grant various effects, including production and combat bonuses, and can be activated up to level 3. Activation requires all three types of Souls. Dwarf Stars increase general stats and can be activated with a single type of Soul without separate upgrade stages.

Growth elements are being expanded across four areas: level, seals, enchantments, and runes. The level cap is increased to 100, though class levels remain unchanged. Enchantments are also being expanded to allow for more variety.
The maximum rune grade is increased from 8 to 10 stars. Upgrading follows the same rules as Season 1, with no risk of degradation. Season 2 runes can be obtained in new dungeons and hunting grounds, and all raid rewards will be updated to Season 2 runes. Higher-tier 'Transcendence Imprints' will be added to match 10-star runes; existing materials cannot be used for 10-star upgrades.
Tags will be added to Legend-grade weapon, armor, and emblem runes. Season 2 features three rune families: Light, Darkness, and Dragon. New Mythic runes are also being added. Dedicated rune jars for each tag can be found in Rundal Abyss Wishing Jars. New 'Rune Words' centered on Season 2 runes will be added and operated independently of Season 1.

New Fashion, Weekly Content Overhaul, and New Raid: Cabrac

Three new fashion sets will be added via the Fashion Lucky Box on June 25: the Epic 'Sweet Moon Knight' set, the Legend 'Mirage Caldrea' set, and the Epic 'Velcrest' set. New Legend fashion sets feature exclusive effects that trigger when other players wearing the same set are nearby.
A 'pity' system for Legend fashion is being introduced. If a Legend fashion upgrade or fusion fails, players will receive 'Legend Fashion Upgrade Ticket Fragments' or 'Legend Fashion Chest Fragments.' Collecting these allows players to exchange them for specific Legend fashion pieces. Legend Fashion Chests provide the latest fused Legend fashion at the time of opening, allowing them to be saved for later. All Legend fusion and upgrade history from the official launch last year until the Season 2 update will be 100% retroactively applied.
If a Legend pet upgrade fails, players will receive 'Legend Pet Selection Chest Fragments.' Collecting these allows players to obtain one of the pets previously available as an Epic grade in the Premium Pet Lucky Box as a Legend grade. Like the fashion pity system, this is fully retroactive to the game's launch.

Updates are also being implemented to reduce the burden of weekly content. Previously, different tokens were required for different content like the Abyss or Tabartas raids, forcing players to engage in specific activities. From Season 2, all weekly content will be consolidated under the 'Monster Elimination Token.
Monster Elimination Tokens can be earned through general gameplay, including the Abyss, dungeons, raids, and field bosses. All raid and field boss loot will be added to the Monster Elimination Token shop. Missed weekly rewards from the Abyss, field bosses, Black Holes, Barriers, and all raids can now be replaced with these tokens.

New content to enhance the adventure experience is being added. 'Friendship Pouches' are items obtained when playing with others. They can be acquired automatically during social activities such as ensemble performances, campfires, My Home, Stella Dome, and town squares. Using them provides growth items like gold, enchantment scrolls, and rune fragments.
Pet Equipment is a new gear type that can be obtained through crafting or the market. Each piece comes with base stats based on rarity (from Rare to Legend). Legend-grade equipment includes set effects that provide additional bonuses when the equipment type matches the pet type.

The Cabrac raid, featuring a dragon that commands the power of sand and earth, will be added on July 16. It starts at the Introductory difficulty and supports solo play, similar to the Abyss. Cabrac utilizes unique combat patterns, including breath attacks that sweep the entire field and petrification mechanics.
The existing Glas Ghaibhleann raid will conclude on June 25, and the Tabartas raid is scheduled to end on July 20. Major rewards from these two raids will continue to be provided weekly via mail as 'Raid Support Supplies' for players who have reached level 65.
