Ultimate Weapon' Lee Young-ho has survived the 'Group of Death.

After losing his opening match against Lee Jae-dong in Group C of the Google Play ASL Season 21 Round of 16, held at Freec Up Studio in Samseong-dong, Seoul, on the 20th, Lee Young-ho entered 'berserker mode.' He went on to defeat Kim Tae-young 2-0 in the losers' match and Kim Taek-yong 2-0 in the final match, securing his spot in the quarterfinals as the group runner-up.

In the first set of the losers' match against Kim Tae-young, Kim dealt damage with a faster-than-expected dropship harass. Despite the setback, Lee secured a superior position through better movement and even snuck in a group of Wraiths to gain a unit composition advantage, ultimately taking the win. The second set was a battle of Vultures. Both players rushed to build three factories and continuously produced Vultures, but Lee won the skirmish in the center to advance to the final match.

In the final match against Kim Taek-yong for the second-place spot, Kim attempted a Zealot poke, to which Lee responded by mass-producing Marines. Both players then secured their natural expansions. Lee prepared for an attack by gathering Tanks while pumping out additional Marines from his barracks.

Launching his attack with five Tanks and a large force of Marines, Lee perfectly timed his strike just before Kim’s Reaver could emerge, destroying the natural expansion. He then cleanly shut down Kim’s shuttle play to secure the victory.

In the second set, Kim Taek-yong boldly attempted a 'no-gate' fast expansion, but Lee countered with an even bolder 'no-barracks' fast expansion. This move demonstrated just how well Lee had read Kim’s psychology. Anticipating Kim’s speed-up shuttle, Lee positioned his Marines and Goliaths to easily fend off the shuttle and Reaver, clinching the win and a ticket to the quarterfinals.
