Riot Games today rolled out a slate of Act 4 additions for its 5-on-5 tactical shooter VALORANT, headlined by the debut of the multi-layered map “Corrode” and the tech-inspired “Phaseguard Collection” skin series.
Beginning Wednesday, June 25, players can test Corrode, VALORANT’s third map set on the Omega Earth. The environment channels a climate-ruined frontier, offering three attack routes and two spike sites. Its defining feature is a vertical design that eases attacker skill pressure and expands defender options, reinforcing strategic decision-making over raw aim. To encourage experimentation, a temporary ranking adjustment halves rank-rating losses on Corrode for the first two weeks, while victories yield full gains. A dedicated Corrode queue in Quickplay will also run through Monday, June 30, letting users explore without competitive worries.

On Thursday, June 26, VALORANT’s Phaseguard Collection launches. Drawing on advanced technology themes, the series outfits the Vandal, Sheriff, Bulldog and Operator with sleek, angular skins and introduces the “Phaseblade” melee weapon. Concurrently, the Act 4 battle pass debuts, featuring new weapon finishes—such as the Atlas // CMD Classic and Perch Phantom —alongside themed accessories including a Bonsai Gun Buddy, Bull’s-Eye Chicken spray and a 5-Year Anniversary Shock Card. An animated Surprise Rift Play spray stands out among the unlockable rewards.
VALORANT’s Act 4 update follows Riot’s showcase of Corrode at the Masters Toronto finals on June 22 (local time), where the developer highlighted the map’s layered architecture and defensive leverage. The temporary rank adjustment and exclusive queue respond to player feedback seeking lower-pressure entry to new content. The Phaseguard skins and battle pass launch mark Riot’s continued commitment to blending gameplay evolution with cosmetic innovation, as the studio builds toward its next chapter of competitive and casual play.
