Six LCK Teams Vie for Two MSI Spots as Dplus KIA and kt Rolster Clash

The League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) will hold its 2025 Mid-Season Invitational representative selection beginning June 7 at LoL Park in Seoul. Six teams will compete for two slots to represent the region at MSI in Vancouver, Canada, later in June.

The opening match features Dplus KIA and kt Rolster, who already face each other in a best-of-three tiebreaker on June 4 to determine fifth and sixth place in the Regular Season. Both clubs finished Rounds 1–2 with 10–8 records and a +2 game differential, forcing a tiebreaker. The winner enters the “Legend Group” for Rounds 3–5, while the loser joins the “Rise Group.” On June 7, these same opponents will meet again in a best-of-five “King of the Hill” format. The victor advances to face fourth-place Nongshim RedForce on June 8.

Top-seeded Gen.G and second-place Hanwha Life Esports meet June 13 in Busan for the LCK first seed. The loser drops to face the winner of the preceding match on June 14, with the final match set for June 15 to decide the second slot. All matches in Busan’s Sajik Indoor Gymnasium are best-of-five.

Midseason balance changes have shifted objective priorities. Patch 25.9 combined Heralds, which continues to influence match outcomes at roughly an 80 percent win rate for securing teams. Voidling spawn timers were delayed to avoid conflicts with dragons, granting junglers more flexibility. Teams will compete on patch 25.11, requiring quick adaptation.

DRX bottom laner Tian "Zhen" You-Cheng became the first foreign player in LCK history to earn both Player of the Match and Gold King honors in a single week after a quadra kill against OKSavingsBank BRION on May 29. Dplus KIA’s Kim "Aiming" Ha-ram leads with three weekly Gold King titles, followed by T1’s Sin "Smash" Geum-jae and Nongshim RedForce’s Jung "Jiwoo" Ji-woo with two each.
